[ sakura high-tails it to the training room and, once she spots sasuke, sprints over to him. her hands are on him almost immediately, lit up with green chakra as she begins to heal him. way to give your teammate a heart attack, sasuke. ]
Dammit, Sasuke... [ for all that she sounds annoyed, she's more concerned than anything. ] I just healed your lungs yesterday, and now you're damaging all my hard work.
[ even though she says that, she's concentrating hard on repairing the damage to his ribs and any bruising that's happened. it takes her a little while--bone is more difficult to set and such with just chakra--but when she's done, she moves onto his eye which takes considerably less time.
and then she reaches into her fanny pack and pulls out a roll of bandages. ]
I can't heal those ribs completely, so we're going to need to wrap them. Okay?
[At least she can rest easy knowing he's not going back to the black box the next day? Although he wishes he could. This session had been particularly frustrating and it feels like it's just going to repeat itself in the future. How is he supposed to defeat a stronger version of himself?
He just nods as she gets the bandages out. Hopefully this won't put him too much out of commission. Broken ribs might also be something Anders could look at tonight.]
[ hope he wasn't too attached to that shirt, because sakura takes a chakra scalpel to it so she can start wrapping his ribs. ]
Your bones are just bruised and, at worst, hairline fractured right now. [ in all honesty, she could probably do more. but with all the craziness with murdercats she doesn't want to waste chakra. and hopefully this'll keep sasuke from doing something too stupid. ] I can do more a little later, but your ribs will still be soft and more prone to re-breaking for a little while.
[ why, yes. she is ignoring his apology. why do you ask? ]
[Sasuke nods again, too weary and too grateful to put up any sort of fuss.]
I'll be careful, I won't... do it again tomorrow.
[Mostly because he won't be able to.
He pushes himself away from the wall enough that she can get behind him with the bandages, his face close to hers. Personal space is less of an issue at the moment.]
[At that, he can only shrug, the movement followed by a pained grunt. He doesn't know anything about her current schedule. She could have been busy dealing with others. She had to have known he needed healing, so what if she hadn't had the chakra for it?]
You still don't get it, do you? [ her fingers brush against the bandages, chakra at her fingertips to dull some of his pain. ] You're my teammate. That makes you my first priority.
[ sure, her mezzos are her first cdc priority. but she's loyal to konoha and team 7 above all else. it's them she accepted the contract for. so any time he needs her, sakura will drop what she's doing and come running. ]
[He could say that he's technically not on her team anymore. That here they're on different ones. But he knows that won't fly. They'll always be Team 7, to her most of all.
Instead, he takes his hand and lays it on her own, just out of it enough to return the fondness.]
[ physical affection from sasuke happens once every tenth blue moon, so sakura takes half a heartbeat to bask in the fact that he actually initiated it. and then she laces her fingers through his, giving his hand a squeeze. ]
You don't have to apologize. [ she's already forgiven him. and, you know-- ] I was kind of expecting you to try the black box again anyway.
[ that's a startling subject change. and while sakura manages to keep most of her shock off her face, her fingers tighten around sasuke's just a little. ]
Why not?
[ she'll respect his wishes, of course. but she'd already been planning on grilling obito to see if they could make an arm for sasuke out of white zetsu. as gross as that sounds. ]
[Sasuke's thoughts are on a completely different path in his haze of punch drunkeness. The replacement he'd been thinking of when he'd spoken to Itachi about it had been mechanical, like the one his duplicate in the last black box session had. But seeing something like that actually on himself didn't seem right.]
It just looked... mean. [He says this as though Sakura will know exactly what he's talking about.]
[ that is exactly the wrong thing to say if he doesn't want her to be worried about him. it's fairly obvious he's referring to something in the black box--and the fact that he had to fight a version of himself with a mechanical arm is really kind of awful--but it's the dazedness that's really the issue.
sakura places her free hand on sasuke's cheek and shoves her face up close to his so she can get a look at his pupils. just to see if he's got a concussion. ]
I wouldn't know where to start with a mechanical prosthetic, so you don't have to worry about that. [ because she is being involved in whatever process gets him a new arm.
she looks from one eye to the next, frowning a little. the stupid rinnegan makes it hard to tell, but she's fairly certain she didn't actually miss any brain damage. ]
I'd gotten some names. People that could help me with it.
[There's a little grunt from him as she draws him near, the action causing him to blink and focus. He's concerned her, so he needs to be coherent. Getting back to his room will require focus too.]
But if I get one and it looks real... I don't know. I feel like I need the reminder.
Mn. [ she leans back and drops her hand from his cheek. ] I can understand that.
[ it's why she still has the scars from the acid burns on her arm. it's why she still has the scars from facing down sasori. why her knuckles are rough and scarred over in so many places. they're reminders of how far she's come. things to help her remember her triumphs and what she's fighting for. ]
Just don't get so stuck on past mistakes that you can't move forward.
CHINHANDS
Sasuke? Is everything alright?
[ she sees that weird typing. ]

can you come to training

Sure. Give me a minute and I'll be there.

Sasuke will be waiting down in the training room, battered and slumped against the wall just beyond the entrance to the black box area.]

Sasuke? Open your eyes for me.

He's about to offer some sort of weak greeting, but with a couple of his ribs busted he ends up just wincing instead.
It may just be his job to worry her.]

Of course I came.

How could I not?
